Creativity

This week I am working on some new pencil drawings. It's rare that I get the chance to create work outside of my commissions but recently I have been trying to make the extra effort to get my creative side going.

When I was learning to draw the best peice of advise I had came from my grandfather. Where most would look at my drawings and only give praise he would offer constructive critisism. He told me that I should draw what I see and nothing else. It wasn't until I was much older that I realised what he meant. It is something I keep in mind with every drawing that I do.

I can be a real perfectionist especially when it comes to my artwork. I really get into my drawings and try an bring them to life and caputre the real character of a subject. I think thats why I favour drawing animals above all else, although I do occassionaly experiment with different media and subjects.
