Trevarno Skin Care

I have suffered with eczema for many years. For a while it did disappear and I thought perhaps that was the end of it but in recent years it has slowly returned and now it's back with vengeance!

I have tried just about every shop bought and prescribed skin care range including steroid creams that you can think of. To a certain degree they have worked but have always been short lived as my skin seemed to build up some kind of resistance to them working.

My hands have always suffered the most and as a busy mum they do seem to take a beating. I have been frantically searching for something alternative products to use. I feel that doctors have helped me as much as they can with prescribing steroid creams and giving me advice but after years of frustration with my skin I would like to give something else a go.

In my search for organic skin care I came across Trevarno. I found them through the Make it British website and liked the look of the products. Trevarno products designed and hand made on Trevarno Farm on the Cornish coast. They were established in 1998 so they aren't a new company but they are constantly evolving their skin care range.

I was unsure which cream or balm to go for as they had such a lovely sounding selection to choose from. I was pleased to find they had a 'Try Me' sample pack. You can pick out 3 either 5ml or 10ml sample pots of different products to try. This size is ideal as it is just enough to find out which one is right for you.

I placed an order for a few sample pots to really try out their products and an Organic Camomile Soap. I received them the very next day! I absolutely love the packaging. The Camomile soap smells great and each of the creams and balms smell 'organic'.

I opted to try out the Restorative Balm on my hands, as they definitely need 'restoring'. As its a balm a little goes a long way but the minute I put it on I could almost see the difference. It sounds like an exaggeration but my skin actually looked instantly hydrated. Even after the first couple of applications I can see that my skin is looking and feeling so much better and has finally started to heal after months of desperation.

Its fair to say that I will definitely be buying a large tub of the Restorative Balm and a couple more mini pots to carry about with me. I think I will be trying out the full range they have to offer. If they can do so much for my hands in such a short space of time I would love to see what the rest of their products can do. At the minute I can't thank Trevarno and it's wonderful products enough!

Networking

I have been working on the social media side of my artwork. I have finally mastered the use of Twitter and have been working on engagement with my Facebook page

I find Twitter a fascinating place and have discovered so many companies, marketing ideas, artists and just friendly people from all over the world.

One of these people is Keith Mills. I stumbled across Keith on Twitter or it may have been the other way around I am not too sure. As I am a nosey person I like to know who I am attracting with my tweets and decided to take a peek at what he did. I was pleased to find he was a budding artist. I am always pleased when I am followed by another artist as it shows mutual appreciation of the art we produce.

Keith has some quirky drawing of both cats and dogs that I just love. One of my favourites is one titled 'Little Fluffy' pictured below.

Keith has slowly been evolving his work and started to create more abstract pieces such as Splintered Time, shown below. It is through creating his art in his own way that he has developed a unique and distinctive style that really stands out from the crowd.

Dogs Trust

We often get requests from charities to help with donations and prizes for raffles but unfortunately we are unable to help all of them. I thought it was time for me to pick a charity to support that was close to my heart and which I could represent well with my work. I am proud to announce that Art by Rebecca Vose is now officially 'Corporate friends' with Dogs Trust.

This means that 10 % of all sales will be donated to them to help them further the great work that they do.

In 2013 alone they successfully rehomed 12,742 dogs. That is no easy task and I hope to be able to help and support this fantastic charity for many more years to come.

Creativity

This week I am working on some new pencil drawings. It's rare that I get the chance to create work outside of my commissions but recently I have been trying to make the extra effort to get my creative side going.

When I was learning to draw the best peice of advise I had came from my grandfather. Where most would look at my drawings and only give praise he would offer constructive critisism. He told me that I should draw what I see and nothing else. It wasn't until I was much older that I realised what he meant. It is something I keep in mind with every drawing that I do.

I can be a real perfectionist especially when it comes to my artwork. I really get into my drawings and try an bring them to life and caputre the real character of a subject. I think thats why I favour drawing animals above all else, although I do occassionaly experiment with different media and subjects.
